Jai (Kamal Hassan) and Janki (Tabu) are filing for divorce from the marriage that saw the birth of their daughter, Bharti (Baby Sana). Jai is permitted a weekly visit to see Bharti, but after sneaking into the house for some extra time, even that privilege is taken away. When Jai discovers Janki is searching for a nanny, he sees an opportunity to spend time with his daughter and, with the help of a makeup artist, transforms into "Laxmi," a female caregiver who seems perfect for the job.
