Thirteen residents at a Glasgow nursing home have died, a week after a suspected outbreak of the coronavirus.

employees at the Burlington Court Care Home, Cranhill, said they were "closely monitoring" the health of Other People in their care, and that "strict protocols" were in place.

A Four Seasons Health Care spokeswoman said: "it is With profound sadness that we confirm that 13 residents in a Burlington nursing home have died in The Past Seven Days .

"Our condolences with their families, and we provide you with our ongoing support during this difficult time.

"The death of a loved one is always traumatic, regardless of the circumstances.

"Inside the house, the focus of The Team is to continue the ongoing care and protection for all of our residents and our colleagues, two of which are currently treated coronavirus. "

"These are unprecedented times and our social care sector work under very difficult circumstances to care for people during the pandemic.

"The Social care sector plays an important role in supporting people To Live well, in their homes or in one of the cosy atmosphere, and we will do everything we can to support the industry, people with the support they need. "

On Twitter, Nicola Sturgeon said her thoughts were with the nursing home residents and the families of those who died.

'Shocked and saddened,'

Rev Muriel Pearson, minister of Cranhill parish Church, has said, their meeting will be desperate "shocked and saddened" by the death.

The Care Inspectorate has been made aware of the death and are in contact with the care service, as well as The Local health and social care partnership.

"Our thoughts are with the families of the victims as well as the staff and the surroundings of the home.

"All of Scotland social care sector work under very difficult circumstances to care for people during the pandemic, and the maintenance, the inspection, and to do everything possible to assist you. "
