Scotland was, to a vibrant display of colors at sunset on Sunday evening.
The sky in all shades of red, orange and purple, because of an unusual combination of weather conditions.
Geoff Monk, said a front was over Scotland, at dawn on Sunday.
"Normally, if a front comes in it is raining and The Cloud on every possible level," he told Bbc Radio Scotland.
But on Sunday evening was different.
"We had extremely clear air below The Cloud . Only the clouds were said thin layers up to about 12-14,000 feet [up to over 4,300 metres]," Mr monk.
"Because no cloud was in the come, or even about The Sun - When it was almost horizontal in the twilight near the horizon - reflecting on the underside of The Cloud , what are the vibrant colors. "

The thin high clouds are well be searched out in the Weather Watcher Macbie Sam's shooting in West Linton in the Scottish Borders.
Forecaster Mr monks said, a mixture of "complex physics" is created, the colors we sometimes see at sunrise and sunset. For example, the type of ice particles or moisture in the air impact on exactly how much vibrant color back is broken.
"Sometimes, When you have a lot of dust in the air, high up, could be pollution, or something out of an old volcano, that, in and of itself, there are good sunsets. But The Cloud was clean yesterday," he added.
