A great fire, which ripped through a Edwardian Villa in Cumbria, was tackled by 40 firefighters.

Cumbria fire and rescue service no one said hall was injured in The Fire at the Scalesceugh, in the vicinity of Carlisle.

The Site is to be transformed in The Process , in the rest of the apartments and is a Grade II-listed building.

The Building , the owner said they owed "an enormous debt of gratitude" to the firefighters for their "tireless dedication" to The Fire control.

Bruno and Anita Herdeiro said they were "devastated by what happened".

"We have our heart and our soul, time, love, and a lot of money in the restoration of the Edwardian Villa, which brought us to this beautiful corner of Cumbria," she said.

firefighters were called to The Site shortly after 23:00 BST on Tuesday and brought it under control by about 06:00, but remain on The Scene .

no one was in The Building at the time. Ten neighbouring properties were evacuated and The Fire brigade stopped The Fire from spreading.

About 40 firefighters from Longtown, Brampton, Carlisle, Lazonby, Wigton, Appleby, and Penrith, are in The Scene .

It is not known what caused The Fire , but it is not believed to be suspicious.
