Basil Hayden, Sr. Life story
Basil Hayden migrated from Maryland to Kentucky. Basil was born in Maryland in 1744, the son of George Hayden. He led a group of twenty-five Catholic families from Maryland into Virginia, the part that is now Nelson County, Kentucky (near Bardstown) in 1785.
