Barbara Slater Life story
Barbara Jane Slater OBE is an English sports producer and former gymnast who represented Great Britain at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, where she carried the British flag at the Opening Ceremonies. Slater became the BBC's first female Director of Sport in April 2009.
Alex Scott: I will carry on despite sexist abuse
TV pundit and former England defender Alex Scott says she intends to continue as a football presenter despite receiving misogynistic comments.
