Back In Time For Dinner

Presenter Giles Coren and food historian Polly Russell use the National Food Survey to discover a large collection of food diaries dating over the last 50 years. Using these resources, they learn how the post-war revolution in the food we eat has changed the way we live today. To demonstrate the transformation, a participating British family is taken back to the 1950s, their home goes from open plan to formal dining room and mum does the cooking whilst dad relaxes by the fire.
