Labour: Jeremy Corbyn would consider shadow Cabinet role'

Feb 16,2020 10:24 am

Jeremy Corbyn has said he would consider the service in The Shadow Cabinet, if a job is offered, and by his successor as Labour leader.

One of the candidates, Rebecca Long-Bailey said That she would offer Mr Corbyn a place in your team, if you win the competition to replace him.

Asked whether he would accept a role That he said he was "happy to be The Party in any capacity".

Sir Keir Starmer and Lisa Nandy are also in the current leader.

the vote starts on may 24. February and The Winner will be announced on may 4. April.

Speaking during a visit to the flood-affected areas in Pontypridd, in South Wales , Mr Corbyn said: "My whole life is about my contribution in the Parliament, holding the government to account, and of course speak, and the policy areas. "

he said he would see "what it is", if he is offered a role, and added That he "know" whether this would happen.

It seems, despite leading labour to its worst election defeats, Jeremy Corbyn is in no hurry to leave front-line politics.

While other leading Labour have confirmed figures such as John Mcdonnell , you will return to the Back Benches , Mr Corbyn has indicated a willingness to continue in The Shadow Cabinet.

It is a result That - although unprecedented - could be yet to come, as Rebecca Long-Bailey, a leadership contender, has already said, you would be willing to give him a job.

but The idea of Jeremy Corbyn remaining in The Shadow Cabinet would be extremely controversial and polarizing.

It would incense those who believe, Mr Corbyn was one of the main reasons for The Party 's crushing defeat.

Mr. Corbyn, on The Left of the Labour Party , was a backbencher, the MP for More Than 30 years earlier, he won the leadership contest in the year 2015.

He fell to the following four General election defeats in a row for The Party , two of them under his responsibility.

Deputy leadership contender and shadow Minister of justice, Richard Burgon has previously said are at the bottom of the end for Jeremy Corbyn ", as far as frontline's policy is not".

On Thursday, the leadership hopeful Ms Nandy said That she would serve "happy", in a shadow Cabinet led by your rivals.

But, Sir Keir, as the front-runner, has refused to undertake the work in The Shadow Cabinet if he loses the competition.

Shadow education secretary, Angela Rayner , shadow equalities minister, Dawn Butler , Scotland's only remaining Labour MP Ian Murray and Tooting MP Rosena Allin-Khan are also in the running for a Deputy Director.
