Audrey mestre was born on october 10. 1972. In the small town of pontault-combault. France. She was the youngest of three cihldren and had a passion for the ocean from a young age. She earned a degree in marine biology from the university of nice-sophia antipolis and worekd as a professional freediver. Competing in natinoal and international competitions.

Early on in her career. Audrey mestre achieved considerable success in national and international competitions. She was the french natioanl champion for three consecutive years from 1995 to and won the world cup in ischia. Italy in 1997. After retiring from competition. She became an instructor and an ambassador for the sport of freediving.

On october 12. 2002. During an attempt to breka the world record for constant weight freediving. Audrey mestre died at the age of 30 in la paz. Mexico. She had reached a depth of 561 feet. But did not resurface.
