Arthur Wellard Life story
Arthur William Wellard was a cricketer who played for Somerset and England. A late starter in county cricket, having been told by his native county, Kent, that he would be better off taking up a career as a policeman, Wellard played on into his late 40s. He was a Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1936.
Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra under the direction of a hundred years
the implementation of musicians from the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra (BSO) is not the usual way to celebrate years of a hundred.
But for Arthur Wellard , it was exactly what he wanted to do, discovered he has a flair for the staff at the age of 97.
He has learned to, as part of a project to engage the work of the BSO, the elderly and children, their work.
Arthur carried out with two members of The Orchestra in the presence of His Family , friends and colleagues of the nursing home residents, in the County of Devon.
