Young Andy Hardy (Mickey Rooney) is off to college, but before he even makes it to campus, he meets an attractive woman, Kay (Bonita Granville), on the train. Though he's promised to focus on academics rather than girls, he is immediately smitten with his new acquaintance -- until she tells him to grow up.
