youth-climate-striker, permission to participate in protests for an authorized school day per year.
However, Edinburgh Council members say, That no penalty shall be flush-mounted in the pupils or parents, if you choose to hit over a longer period of time.
The City Council for Education , children and families Committee approved a Motion , the limit of the SNP-Labour coalition, authorized absences, up to A Day .
This was, in spite of an apology from the activists, the students " action back.
It Follows two emergency applications of Green Council members, who were earlier this year, where the students participate in the climate emergency demonstrations with the permission of the parents on a one-off basis.
But, warned officials against "the potential for a negative risk for The Children who are absent and left unattended is high and is contrary to the protection of children and awareness-raising reach. "
A report said, "almost all of the principals were not authorized in support of children' s absence," by members of The Council , as it had "devalued the hard work they had undertaken in working with parents who do not value good attendance at school".
Sandy Boyd, a youth climate activist from the Trinity Academy, said the decision was "morally wrong".
He added: "The Youth -climate-strike has brought to the movement, the change everywhere in The World .
"It will stop this progress dead in its tracks. You try to suppress the opinion of Young People on matters which impact on Young People .
"We implore The Council to allow us authorized absence of pressure from the governments - Finally we see some action.
"The educational value of participation in these events is huge. It is to build a society we want to see. We keep doing until we see a change. "
However, Council officers highlighted how important it is to ensure That students attend the lessons.
demonstrators gathered outside the Scottish Parliament during a strike earlier this year,Lorna Sweeney, The Council of the schools and life-long learning, senior manager, said: "in Principle, we need to ensure That The Children attend.
"If we make the contradictory information the parents it is the whole purpose of the training is very difficult.
"The Principle purpose Of schools is to increase, achieve. The largest single factor is present. "
Andy Gray , head of schools and lifelong learning, said That if the students participated in the strikes with the permission of the parents there would be no financial penalty.
He added: "We are not punishing The Children for this activity, but what we say is That it is definitely an unauthorised absence. "
Council members approved the strike, voted to limit to One Day .
Ian Perry, of The Council for Education , children and families, event organiser, said: "There is No Doubt , when I was in school, I would do exactly what Sandy [Boyd] does.
"I think everyone recognizes That the movement is growing and is having a big impact. Having said That , we the people must remember the duty of this Education committee is to provide the best training for the Young People of this city and prepares you For Life .
"then We would say That the participation in the school is important and we value it.
"I think the solidarity with the climate movement, we should have A Day . "
Callum Laidlaw, a Conservative Education spokesman, behind-the-border.
He said: "There are consequences of missing school and we have a duty of care.
"A strike is not a strike, because it is approved - it will be a Day Off . "
But, the Green Council members called the proposals be stopped.
Steve Burgess, The Council of the municipality covers Southside and Newington, said: "an arbitrary restriction, it is in this Phase not displayed, respond appropriately to Young People .
"Let's keep an Open Mind and do it on a case-to-case basis. "
