you may have heard of people who have a traditional beach clean-up, but what is with all the trash under the water?
started by A group of divers from the voluntary organisation Seasearch, wear special bags to enable them to collect garbage from the sea floor.
Seasearch is primarily concerned with the production of a data set, the animal world and the other properties of the water in which they dive.
Bbc News went along to a special underwater clean-up at the Brompton beach in Bangor, County Down , to learn more.
