Alluxio is an open-source virtual distributed file system. Initially as research project "Tachyon", Alluxio was created at the University of California, Berkeley's AMPLab as Haoyuan Li's Ph. D. Thesis, advised by Professor Scott Shenker & Professor Ion Stoica.
