Alexandros Merkati Life story
Alexandros, Count Merkati was a Greek golfer. He competed in the men's individual event at the 1900 Summer Olympics. Merkati introduced Pierre de Coubertin to Constantine I of Greece, instrumental in providing Greek royal support to de Coubertin's idea of reviving the Olympic Games.
