Alexandre Jacques François Bertrand was a French physician and mesmerist who was a native of Rennes. He was the father of archaeologist Alexandre Bertrand and mathematician Joseph Bertrand. He was also an ally of philosopher Pierre Leroux and the Saint-Simonians.
