Alexander Long Life story
Alexander Long was a Democratic United States Congressman who served in Congress from March 4, 1863, to March 3, 1865. During the Civil War, Long was a prominent "Copperhead", a member of the peace movement of the Democratic Party, and he was identified as being one of the war's most vehement opponents.
