About Al-Azhar Mosque
Al-Azhar Mosque, known simply in Egypt as Al-Azhar, is an Egyptian mosque in Islamic Cairo. Al-Mu'izz li-Din Allah of the Fatimid dynasty commissioned its construction for the newly established capital city in 970.
