Al-Waqidi Life story
Abu `Abdullah Muhammad Ibn ‘Omar Ibn Waqid al-Aslami was a historian commonly referred to as al-Waqidi. His surname is derived from his grandfather's name Waqid and thus he became famous as al-Imam al-Waqidi.
