Africanus Horton Life story
Africanus Horton, also known as James Beale, was an African nationalist writer. A Creole of Liberated African heritage, Horton was born to parents of the Igbo people who had been freed from a slaver ship by the Royal Navy and disembarked at Freetown, Sierra Leone, where he was born.
