About Aegyptopithecus
Aegyptopithecus is an early fossil catarrhine that predates the divergence between hominoids and cercopithecids. It is known from a single species, Aegyptopithecus zeuxis, which lived around 38 million years ago in the early part of the Oligocene epoch.
