Hatay

Hatay is a southern Turkish province on the Mediterranean coast, bordered by Syria to the south and the east. The cosmopolitan capital, Antakya, stands on the banks of the Orontes River and is surrounded by mountains. The Hatay Archaeology Museum in Antakya is known for its massive collection of Roman and Byzantine mosaics. The collection also includes artifacts from the Paleolithic era.
