Taganrog

Taganrog is a port city in southwestern Russia. The Chekhov House Museum, the birthplace of playwright Anton Chekhov, displays family artifacts. Gorky Park dates from the 19th century and has fountains and children's rides. Featuring an ornate facade, Alferaki Palace houses the Museum of Local Lore, with ceramics, textiles and paintings. The works of Russian masters are on display at the Taganrog Museum of Art.
