Tsuruoka

Tsuruoka

Tsuruoka is a city on the northwest coast of Japan's Honshu island. It's known for the 3 Sacred Mountains of Dewa, including Mount Haguro, home to a shrine and a 5-story pagoda. Tsuruoka Park, on the site of the city's castle ruins, has cherry trees. Nearby, the Chido Museum displays calligraphy and wooden folk art. Along the seafront are the Yunohama hot springs and Kamo Aquarium, which has bioluminescent jellyfish.
