Kusatsu

Kusatsu

Kusatsu, a town in Japan's Kantō region, is known for its hot-spring resorts. At its center is the spring's source, Yubatake, with its gushing, steaming waters. Nearby is the traditional Goza no Yu bathhouse. In the west, Mt. Kusatsu-Shirane is an active volcano whose summit is home to the acidic green waters of Yugama lake. To the southwest is Kazawa Yunomaru Plateau, with its sprawling, seasonal azalea fields.
