Fort

Fort

Fort is a busy commercial district with colonial-era offices, chain stores and street stalls selling everything from coconut water to used books. The Asiatic Society Library, in the Greek-influenced 1830 Town Hall, contains the original 15th-century manuscript of Dante's “Divine Comedy” and overlooks Horniman Circle Gardens. Ornate monuments fill nearby St. Thomas Cathedral, dating to 1718.
