Gomel

Gomel

Gomel is a city in southeastern Belarus. On the Sozh River, the 18th–19th-century Gomel Palace is now a museum displaying paintings, decorative arts and weaponry. The palace sits in the lush surroundings of Park Ensemble, along with the classical-style Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul, consecrated in 1824. Just north, the Gomel Regional Museum of Military Glory displays vintage aircraft, weapons and uniforms.
