Barquisimeto

Barquisimeto is a city on the Turbio River and the capital of Lara state, in northwestern Venezuela. It's known for its modern cathedral and the Barquisimeto Museum, which displays regional artworks. The central Bararida Zoological Institute and Botanical Garden is a park and zoo featuring pumas, manatees and hippos. West of the center, El Obelisco is a tower offering panoramic city views.
