Rebecca Steinfeld and Charles Keidan began The Campaign to get mixed-sex couples, civil partnerships five years ago,

The big day has almost arrived for some couples.

As of the New Year 's Eve to Get Married , she is no longer the only option for those in mixed-sex relationships in England and Wales are registered partnerships, on the table.

So, how is the new law like mandatory party? Three Women give us the facts on their not-so-traditional plans for the occasion.

Why not just Get Married ?

the Marriage was never something I Wanted - the conventions and the vows of the traditional ceremony never seemed a good fit, and the Patriarchal roots not seemed appropriate, since my view of the world.

It's funny how we want to ask ourselves always each other, "will you Marry Me ?" and answer with a smile: "no, but I will always love you".

When we learn, we felt really excited.

However, as a romantic and quite, how this all feels for us, I have the feeling that the first call to the office made everything feel less than special, as I was asked if I "was sure, that I don't want to Get Married ".

What happened on The Day ?

From the beginning, we Wanted to with our son as part of The Process . He will be at The Ceremony , and he chose to have a ring of this opportunity, all of us, wooden Rings made from recycled skateboards in various color combinations.

We will not wear them all the time, or on a certain finger, but we Wanted Something Special and something different for The Day

We only get an invitation to Two Friends as Witnesses .

Dressing for the occasion?

load the specified dress code for The Day : jeans and sneakers. I am currently in search of a glittering pair of trainers in the sale.

will you celebrate afterwards?

We Wanted The Day decided to us and not to have a big celebration or party. We are planning our Witnesses for a celebratory lunch.

However, it is a traditional thing that we have a choice of a honeymoon on the Canary Islands . We believe that this is a surprise for our son, the Witnesses of love, on a flight, and is very excited that he gets to participate in this special adventure with mom and dad.

What you need to ask you for your civil partnership?

One of our Witnesses suggested that, instead of on our impending "union" as a Marriage , we were finally civilized!

Why not just Get Married ?

The whole idea of Marriage seems to us to be archaic and outdated, as it was on Patriarchy and Gender Inequality . Our whole relationship is and always will be, while the rest of the individuals.

This gives us to undertake the ability, legally, without The Fuss and palaver of the conventional marry.

The legal services, our security is in the future - in spite of popular belief, not currently married couples have no legal status in the law on the rights of the married couples about each other's legal Affairs.

What happened on The Day ?

We didn't want a ceremony, as it is to us, it is just a piece of paper, nor will we exchange the Rings . We are only two Witnesses - the minimum legal requirements - because they are our oldest friends.

Dressing for the occasion?

I was forced to buy them (non-wedding) dress, although jeans and a sweater that would have passed! Matt pushed the boat and bought a new T-shirt.

will you celebrate afterwards?

Originally, we Wanted a reception, but then decided to highlight The Event and the beginning of a new decade, with a few Close Friends we have known for most of our adults - and in some cases longer - in the pub with a slap-up meal and a good old New Year 's Eve knees.

What you need to ask you for your civil partnership?

Formally, our civil partnership ceremony. It's the journey, The Tongue is not exact, though, so we use "be replaced civilled" "Get Married ".

Why not just Get Married ?

Marriage in the traditional sense, with its Patriarchal historical associations, was not for us, so that we have to do what feels right.

We are so excited that we will finally have the protection of another law, and celebrate our life-long partnership.

But we must stress, to denigrate, in any way, we want to do before - we have some beautiful weddings and we wish you all the luck, but you choose once again their love for each other.

What happened on The Day ?

Only the Immediate Family , because we really Wanted to keep it small, but we Wanted to celebrate. There are about 20 of us.

We hold our ceremony at a beautiful Mansion House in Cardiff. You have a beautiful reading room, and we plan to "get civilled" against the background of the books. It type is not the way to go; we run together.
