"We always had the hope that father would come home, but as soon as he was diagnosed with Covid-19, he deteriorated pretty quickly and that was The End unfortunately.

"But then you would hear from the off, a nurse comes into The Room , and Papa's eyes were wide open, and he would say: 'Here it is, my Number One , Miss Southmead 1978 runner-up".
