The Singer -songwriter writes the entire album, with input from their Fans

"Oh, God, I feel so old. I'm so sad," says Charli Xcx , after two failed attempts, in our Zoom-interview.

Hey Charli! How are you?

in fact, I feel quite well now. I definitely have days where I'm like, "Oh My God , I feel so unproductive and lost", But in General, I am quite surprised at how I was handling This Time .

What was the biggest technical challenge?

the recording of My Own singing. I have not done since I was 15 and to make demos in my parents ' house. I'm so slow and it drives me crazy. I literally want to throw something at me.

What is The Problem ?

I don't know My Way around the software yet. And I'm not good enough to comp my vocals-this is where you sing The Song five times and select The Best bits from each take.

So now, instead, I'm just the whole thing by singing correctly. I guess every part of a sing 30 times 30, I'm like, "OK, this is perfect. All the breaths are in The Right place, all the nuances are correct, this is The One ". But it is a very long process.

you have a period of 15 themselves. How important is it?

But I don't want to just take 10 songs and put it on The Album . I would like to record several songs and decide which are The Most important 10.

Will this change your work in The Future ?

in any case. A part of me is like, "I don't know why I made an album like this".

I enjoy travelling and be still and focus on my music. This is something I have never done before. There are a million things at a Time , and to capture A Day here and there. So I think that will change, because I love recording like this.

You're lucky that technology means that you can make music like this. It would not have been possible 10 or 20 years.

100%. I would not only be lost, when I was there.

And there are a lot of other creative people who can't work during This Time - so, for me, this project is also a way to support some of these people, if the video editors, or artists, my pictures or 3D designers or video Directors. is

And I hope that not only will we be able to get some really great art together, But we will be able to give back. My plan is to make three unique works of art for each song, and I really want organization to be able to the auction of the original works of art and donate The Money to a charity.

Apart from music, what keeps you going?

I've just started for the First Time . I'm in episode nine. And I'm balancing Sopranos with the island of love, I've never seen before. So I go back and forth between the two, and that keeps me healthy.

I also rock painting. I collect them in The Garden and I paint them; and I have enjoyed cooking. I was definitely not much of a cook before the quarantine.

What is your specialty?

I'm really into soups right now, because I'm really not to waste his generic. I throw everything I can into it. also funny, that can on the back of The Fridge , been there for years.

So, if The Music fails, career, Masterchef beckons.

Actually, my manager sent me a message that say, "Oh, My God , Bon Appétit [mega-popular food blog] mentioned, you!" And I was like, "What? This is huge!"

Then I said, "just try to Charli Xcx and cooking, like watching a child learn a dance routine for the First Time ".
