About The People

This groundbreaking study sets out to clarify one of the most influential but least studied of all political concepts. Despite continual talk of popular sovereignty, the idea of the people has been neglected by political theorists who have been deterred by its vagueness. . . .

Coronavirus lockdown: "We will change all have to do our part to be in

Dec 1,2023 9:31 am

Coronavirus-lockdown gave a young man a lot of time to think about it, how he wants to change The World .

My name is Miguel Carrion, I'm 21 years old, I live with my parents in the San Francisco Bay area.

26. March: I don't have a lot of sleep lately, sleep was really late. I was just tired, but I'm still grateful that I have my health and that, you know, I have a shelter, food and access to things that distract me while everything that is going on, and you know that I have things I can do, and for that I Am grateful.

27. March: Prior to the coronavirus, we would go to Church once a week on Sunday and my mother would try to go to every morning. But now with the Corona-Virus that we just stream Church, every day.

My parents woke me up to see the Pope deliver his Urbi et Orbi message, the plenary indulgence for the pandemic, the affected Covid-19, and all the others. An event that, normally, hundreds of people at The Vatican was empty.

you See Miguel's video diary

the three of us Young Americans are asked, the chronicle, and their very different experiences of the pandemic. Read about Maddie at the bottom, a 22-year-old student living in Ohio, and Ana, who graduated just from High School in New York City.

30. March: Not even the 15 hour time difference, shelter-in-place, and community lockdown can keep to operate A Family . My relatives in the Philippines get in, as a rule, regular-togethers just to update each other and talk about the latest chismis (gossip in Tagalog), but due to the Covid-19-outbreak, we all have to use used Zoom to communicate with each other. It was after midnight, my parents and I, the fun and laughter stopped, for hours.

29. March: My Family lived in this apartment for almost 10 Years .

My mother came to America, first from the Philippines in the year 2004, my father and I followed her in the year 2010. Since then, I have slept on The Couch - it is a small one-room apartment, but it's not too bad.

6. April: Here are my mother's, retrieving the last of the week E-mail. What once has become a daily event, something to be done only once in the week. My parents decided that it was the best, only you get to reduce the mail once a week to touch anything that has Other People come in contact with.

9. April: San Francisco in The Time of Covid-19. What was once a bustling town, full of tourists and locals, is now almost empty. In Union Square , all kinds of shops are boarded up, the tracks with sheets of plywood that was suspended to the usual city traffic, and the citizens crowded.

to recover Although closed, the majority of these high-end designer shops will be able to, financially. But I'm worried about the fate of the hole-in-the-wall and mom-and-pop shops.

you Go, and I've seen a lot of tents lining the sidewalks. In spite of the rich residents and expensive tech company, the The Most vulnerable citizens of The City , it seems to inhabit, that of The Local government.

said A lot of people, instead, they force The People remain homelessness, in The Streets , why can't The City put them in the room, as they always empty? The proposal went all The Way to The Mayor . I think it is a good idea.

15. April: Self-portrait in a newly organized bathroom. Since the beginning of the shelter-in-place, in order, my mother had two signs in order that all of us, only Our Own towels when drying our hands and took The Old shared towel. My mother also took the freedom that each of us have Our Own tubes of toothpaste and bottles of mouthwash, while the marking of each Element.

16. April: It's been More Than a month since you started this project, and I wish I could say that things are Back To normal, but obviously that's not what happened. The only thing we can do is do our part and try to smooth The Curve .

It is frustrating that a lot of people feel the same way. And that you go out and protest in large groups of people in the public and not try to get to the end of the quarantine, if the seem to work. It is frustrating to see, because it's probably just everything longer. It is also incredibly selfish.

10. May: On mother's day, my parents and I adobo and rice fell from the shells of chicken in Daly City . The donation was hosted for a free community feed, and organized by Bayanihan Pilipino Resource Center and the Filipino-American Democratic Club of San Mateo County.

volunteers cooked and delivered trays on trays of the adobo and rice. Families and individuals were invited up to the curb and get pre-made panels of The Classic Filipino dish, and feed their families.

3. June: My Family is in quarantine for three months now. So I took part in a Demonstration in San Mateo county. It was a protest in solidarity with The Other Black matter of the protests of the Lives that go on around the country and around The World . I have never been on a protest in the size, and it was just amazing to see all these people come together for a Common Cause , to fight for what is right.

Not everyone can all The Time and always in Protest, which is understandable, because it happens coronavirus. go And there are Some People who are older, or Some People who are likely to be immune-compromised, or maybe it's just harder for you to isolate yourself after a protest.

But even now, a lot of people still show up and figuring out, and it is incredibly important for all of us to continue.

I hope that everything that comes out of it, as the Other People are healthy and safe and in order is that we only see that The System We Live in works. The country in which We Live is not really as great as Some People might think it is, if it was always great, and that everything must change. And we all need to do our part to change something. Because we all live here, all together.
