Portrait of a lady: the painting found in wall confirmed as stolen Klimt
A painting discovered by chance last month, a Gustav Klimt original, which was stolen almost 23 years, the Italian authorities have confirmed.
The Painting , portrait of a lady, was from a gallery in the North of the city of Piacenza in the year 1997.
It was meant to be, and then gone forever, until a gardener clearing away ivy found it hiding in an outer wall of the same gallery.
The Klimt has an estimated value of at least €60m ($66m; £51m).
Why the image was left in The Wall at the Ricci Oddi Gallery of Modern Art is still a mystery.
"is It not a little emotion, I can tell you that The Work is authentic," said state's attorney Ornella Chicca.
She Said further tests to clarify whether the image was in The Wall space, since it was stolen, or if it was placed there later.
