A statue of The Man who founded The Scout Movement is far from Poole Quay amid fears it is on a "target list for the attack".
BCP Council said it was the removal of the Robert-Baden-Powell statue was advised to the protection of the police".
The Authority said it acknowledged some aspects of his life have been commemorate as "less worthy".
The Statue faces Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour where The Scout Movement , founded by Baden Powell began.
