Elliot Swann was E-Mail audition tapes that he practiced records home

Elliot Swann began his mum spying through The Kitchen window, as he ballet in your garden.

Despite still being physically ArtsEd, London concluded-based acting Conservatory, where Elliot studies in musical theatre, has turned practically since the start of the coronavirus lockdown.

in addition to classmates to Zoom-meetings, Elliot , 21, drill voice, practices, and dance moves on the deck and taps Away in The Bathroom of his parents' house in Hampshire. But there is no work for him and his fellow students after the completion of this summer?

Normally at This Time of the year, acting students around The World their first outing in the economy, the implementation of in-person for agents, casting Directors, and producers, in the hope that a talent Agency or even Pick Up your first paid work.

closed, But with theatre, TV and Film-shooting on the Hand, The World trade, is currently an industry on Pause .

ArtsEd students and teachers have carried on their teaching from a distance

"All our work has stopped," Says James Calleri, who throws the Broadway and regional Theater in New York , as well as film and TV. "Everything was just deleted. "

Mr Calleri, who also runs The Graduate acting program at New York 's Columbia University , usually graduates taken on an industry tour of Los Angeles back in April.

decision-makers would have you executed for some of the big showbiz. But all of Columbia's acting school presents were canceled, indefinitely.

"We're going to push until September, but The Problem is that the theaters are so weakened now," Mr Calleri Says . "You don't know, what will your life look like after lockdown. "

All the auditions that are always taking place, starting At Home -recordings or "self-tapes" via E-Mail.

Back in Hampshire, Elliot has it, but five rounds of recalls for a West End show.

"is That good, you get a Second Chance ," he Says . "You can see it, and if you want to, you can do it again. "

James Calleri, Says the industry has only "stopped"

Elliot professors are also happy to give feedback and guidance, before you audition, The Videos that are sent, something that would be possible with personally.

"The [Film and television] companies have self audition tapes for some time, but I think plays and musicals of the head is also so, also after The Virus ," Says Chris Hocking, the head of the ArtsEd.

"Everyone is trying to help these graduates. We have worked hard so that The Students from industrial point of contact during their training. "

What remains for Elliot is a game of patience. Actors almost never receives a feedback, unless you win The Job .

"right now," he Says , "because everything that is extended. And many tours had to drop due to the blocking.

"There's every chance that I might be suffering audition for a show, the cast you could get, And Then a few weeks later, they will say, 'to me, really, it's been cancelled. '"

theaters around The World

Elliot are closed know, he is seen to be happy always. Many high school graduates are not all of the industry face-time.

Racheal Owens, A Teacher at the Guildford School of Acting, Says that its graduates have been due to a final day of performance for agents and casting Directors in March. But A Day before The Show , the lockdown restrictions have been announced, and it was canceled.

"had signed Some of The Students , but not others, and would have hoped for more chances, as we had two musicals left," she Says .

the staff at The Guilford continue to do everything possible to self-tapes to agents. Fortunately, the industry is in London, was open-minded, in an effort to support this year's graduates, but there is very little work available.

"I really feel for these students, their introduction in the industry is at risk," Says Ms Owens.

Elliot Swann Says that he life is not looking for a career in acting

A missing person in power can be especially difficult for the young actor, with a fancy style or unusual, that can come across well in a short self-tape, Plus curriculum vitae (CV) and direct hit.

Such performers are more likely to win, agents and casting Directors In Person .

But even if young actors impress, but you are able to audition, how long will it take for the industry to return to a kind of normal?

James Calleri wonders how the Practical Experience of The Theatre , would work with social distancing.

the producers of a 1,200-seat Broadway Theatre could sell, but if 600 people are sitting in every other seat, to the social distance, not recover costs, he Says . In smaller theatres, social distancing would be impossible.

"The Class of 2020 is the victim now," he Says . "I feel like the industry knows this and hopefully will try and be on the lookout for them. "

Alex Butler, who runs the New York -based boutique Agency Henderson Hogan, warns in his most recent signings, things are going to get better overnight.

"I told them, 'Look, if you track this for long, come to The City , get your apartment, your job and your classes Set Up . If things go back only once, we gear can. '"

But it was a long wait could. Mr Butler Says he would like to open up for the Broadway in September but fears of curtains can not rise until next year.

Still, he thinks that at some point down The Road , when the young actors come from the school this year, hold on tight, there will be opportunities to audition for these shows.

"the people working on Broadway, you may decide that you are done with The Business , or if you are looking for a Tour, their spouses don't want you to Go On The Road more," he Says .

New York Casting Director Alison Franck, who throws the Broadway, touring and regional musical Theater shows, Says that the actors are always creative and resilient. These attributes are needed now More Than ever, because many will struggle to agents immediately.

Alison Franck Says that the young players will now learn How To be more resilient than ever

"These actors How To do the Tricks you say on your own",. "And I think that those who figure this out can often end up being more successful in the Long Run . "

Elliot understands how difficult the current situation is, but he is ready to Dig In . He believes that the industry will come back "stronger than ever".

the acting has been living his dream for his whole.

"I'm absolutely haul in him for long," he Says .
