Coronavirus: Off-duty nurse helps people after car crash

Lucy Duncan is working nurse as a Mental Health sick, the North-West districts in the health sector

An off-duty nurse has described how she spent five hours in A& E with an older man in suspicion, coronavirus, after he crashed into your car.

Lucy Duncan, 24, was driving home from a 12 hour shift at Wigan hospital, when her car was hit by another vehicle.

she fell silent and looked at The Driver "slumped over" the steering wheel and struggling to Breathe .

The 24-year-old called for an ambulance And Then went to the hospital with him, to comfort him.

"The Man was so grateful that I stayed with him and kept squeezing my hand, and pulled him close to him," Ms Duncan said.

Her Boss has described as "a superstar".

Ms Duncan had a GMT since the return of their seventh layer in a line approximately at 19:45 on Thursday, when The Crash happened in Abram.

"He grabbed my arm and kept apologized, and said he thought he had the coronavirus," She Said .

"He was grey and sweating and struggling to Breathe - he looked really sick. "

'Shining example'

The Man , believed to be in his 70s, told her he was in isolation for More Than a week, but was forced to leave his home country, to buy food.

"So I called an ambulance and followed him in My Own car, and stayed with him for five hours wearing full PPE," She Said .

"I don't think I did anything extraordinary, but a lot of people have told me that they would not have done it.

"I want to go back and see him, and to know that he is OK. "

Simon Barber, chief executive at the North-Western districts of Healthcare, said: "it is everything we may want for our employees, and true NHS compassion in these difficult times, is a shining example. "
