Coronavirus: UK-quarantine-plans and £confirmed 1,000 penalties

Nov 22,2023 11:11 am

to force

plans to Isolate almost all of the flights to the UK, which has been confirmed for 14 days by the Minister of the interior.

Priti Patel told The Commons that the Border Force will verify that the traveler fill out a form with your contact details and the location for the insulation.

the isolation of Leaving prematurely in England could result in a Fine of up to £1,000, or law enforcement, She Said .

"We will not allow a reckless minority that threatens our domestic recovery," She Said .

Ms Patel told MPs that the scientific advisors had said the quarantine would not have been effective earlier in the Corona-Virus-pandemic when infection rates in the UK were higher.

But now, imported cases of The Virus , another big threat, She Said , so it was now important to "protect our hard-fought progress, we are moving in The Right direction".

It is the latest Department of health figures show another 359 people died after the conclusion of the contract coronavirus, bringing the UK total to 39,728. An additional 1,871 people tested positive in The Last 24-hour period.

She Said the "proportionate and time-limited measures" would come into force on Monday, with "limited exceptions" to ensure that supplies of relief goods such as food and protective equipment were not disturbed.

The regulations apply to England, and Ms Patel said devolved administrations have their own rules for the enforcement of the quarantine.

Ms Patel said, the measures should be reviewed after three weeks, and the government would aim at a greater freedom in the long term, including the establishment of a secure "international corridors", the countries are considered safe.

'Completely useless'

Ryanair said the proposals were "totally ineffective", with arrival, travel to The Airport , to Isolate before you, potentially spreading the infection, while the government would% phone "less than 1" to check, were you meet.

"These 14-day-UK-quarantine is ineffective, useless, and no effect on the British passengers, who have largely been ignoring it," said a spokeswoman.

MPs demand a focused approach

Many MPs - including Conservatives - were in The Commons concerns about the government's approach to quarantine.

firstly, they argue, this policy was brought to, Too Late . Do you think it should be introduced, when The Virus was spreading in Europe - and before you took it to keep here.

Many now have concerns, the overreaction of the government to prevent as it tries that a second peak.

the Minister of the interior said they are concerned that a blanket quarantine has had a devastating impact on airlines, airports and the wider tourism industry. Very few MPs showed support for the concept of government.

you want the government, a more targeted approach - has found ways, so that the travel from certain countries, where transmission is lower.

The Confederation of British Industry, said it needed more detail on how the policy would be considered, who would be exempt, and how The International travel corridors with major trading partners.

"companies and authorities need to urgently with the development of an internationally agreed plan, the people said sure in movement across the borders as soon as possible," CBI President John Allen

sources for the French and Italian ministries of foreign Affairs told The Bbc that there had been no bilateral talks about the lifting of the quarantine plans and establishment of travel corridors or "air-bridges" with Britain

"If the UK imposed a quarantine, we will apply it," a French official said.

The Plan has concerns triggered under several Tory MPs, with former Cabinet Minister Theresa Villiers , they demand to be exposed, while the travel corridors are established, "the jobs in the aviation and let families Go On their summer holiday in The Sun ".

on the occasion of a previous debate on the aviation industry, former Prime Minister Theresa May said the quarantine would "close the UK from the rest of The World ".

deportation 'the Last Resort '

the Labour shadow home Secretary Nick Thomas-Symonds said that the people needed the assurance that This Was the "try a three-weeks-fudge, spare the government embarrassment due to non-implementation of the handle on this topic at The Right time".

He Said only 273 people had to have been placed under quarantine in the early stages of the pandemic than 18 million visitors arrived in the UK, with the government saying the private consultants, many cases, came not from China, but from places in Europe .

according to the new rules, the majority of arrivals to the UK, fill out a "contact locator-form" with information to Isolate where, for Two Weeks , and how you can be contacted.

Who remain failed in the insulation face a £1,000 fixed penalty in England, to follow with a prosecution and an unlimited Fine potentially, the Home Office said.

there was an error filling out the form can also be punished with a Fine of 100 pounds.

Border-force can deny entry to non-residents that do not meet, and the Home Office also said that the deportation as a "Last Resort " for foreign nationals, not to Isolate .
