"I'm a Christian, but I Am especially fascinated by the [Catholic] funeral ceremonies," he adds.

'Golden cage'

Some visitors to suspect that the Hamerkop can feel Like an unpleasant throwback to a colonial era, but Mr. Fournier pointed out that it is well integrated with people in The Local village.

Thibault Fornier can't imagine a life without his home in Burkina Faso

on the question of The Future of the Hamerkop, he replies: "I can't do Anything Else , except continue to.

"If someone comes to buy these instead of 500 m Swiss francs ($827,400; £669,000), we can sell it, but what do we do with The Money ?

"We start building again. It is a Golden cage. Are we doomed to continue. "

He Says that after he is gone, his partner and his children is hardly more running, Hamerkop.

"I Think [it] will crumble, but people will still be in 30 or 50 Years .
