Sarah is not her real name - birth of her son in the UK
Sarah stood in front of a difficult choice: stay in her home Country Namibia and will continue to be raped and tortured, or run and let your 10-year-old daughter behind.
The then-29-year-old decided to flee. Once she was sure you send for your daughter.
Sarah, who was seven months pregnant, arrived at Heathrow Airport with her partner on The Morning of the 12. December 2018. But what began as a smooth asylum claim ended in a misunderstanding of the speech, which the couple homeless.
Here, in her own words, she reflects on their experiences.
', We had two hours, " Sarah with a traditional Herero doll, which arrived the Herero tribewe, at Heathrow Airport , requested we asylum. Everyone was so helpful, caring and supportive.
We were sent to a hotel in Croydon, where we settled in nicely. It felt so safe, and everything from food to toiletries was provided for us.
But One Day , after about Two Weeks , the Hotel Manager came to our room and said he had received a letter from the Home Office , the had to says we had "More Than enough" money for our stay, and, therefore, to go.
I don't know how that could be. We had £600 to our name when we arrived, but to this point most of The Time on food, clothes - it was very cold - and a new phone.
We tried to explain that to him, but without success. Our asylum application had been Rejected .
Sarah and her partner sought help from Lunar House , after her asylum application was RejectedHe Gave us two hours, and said he would drop in Lunar House , the headquarters of the UK visas and immigration.
It is Almost Christmas , so he was not sure whether someone will be available to help us, but to us, it drives all he could do was Gave .
My whole world collapsed. We don't have to go anywhere.
'We slept under bridges and in railway stations" Sarah, wearing traditional Herero clothing was closed in NamibiaLunar House . We sat on a bench in front of The Building in disbelief. We stayed there for hours, just don't know what to do. We were in shock.
I covered to throw me in, but it was very cold. I was worried I would lose My Baby .
A few hours later, a passer-by told us it was a bridge in the vicinity. It was a three-mile walk.
The Next few nights, we spent our last money for food and drink, sleeping under bridges and in railway stations.
I never thought I would be homeless at the end or sleep on The Streets of the UK. I didn't know things like that could happen.
I fled to Namibia, because I feared for My Life . I ran away from A Life of rape and torture of nine years.
And now I was worried, I could die in the freezing cold, in fear, I could lose My Baby and it would have been for nothing.
'I was helped to The Hospital ,' hospital staff, the Sarah from The StreetsAfter Five Nights of sleeping rough, my Midwife , to notify the I have been in my first Two Weeks in the Country , putting us In Touch with homeless charity crisis.
they asked us various temporary places to sleep, until the beginning of January, and has helped us. get our application for the Home Office back on track
Then, One Day , I admitted to not feeling My Baby was, so I was taken to The Hospital .
A test is completed, The Baby and I were fine, but the staff of The Hospital would not discharge me until they knew I had somewhere to go safely.
you have helped us to hunt, the Home Office about our application, and, on The Third day of my stay in The Hospital , the Home Office finally approved our application for asylum and sent us to A House in Thornton Heath .
The previous rejection was due to an error in the application.
It was such a great relief.
'I feel I failed My Daughter ' Sarah ' s son is a healthy Little Boy ,I Gave birth in February 2019, my son, and in March, we are in A House in East London .
the life finally began to go forward again.
I have some new friends, and I started to Elster - a charity that supports mothers and young children in temporary or insecure accommodation - where will I be able to go with My Baby , diapers to get, chat with the other mums and do a lot of activities.
But then, coronavirus hit, and everything stopped.
Elster connected me with another charity bar, the money now for a high chair and a tablet with learning apps for my son and a laptop, so I can improve my English and hopefully to get a job as soon as my status is Granted .
Sarah, the Elster project will enjoyed, before it was temporarily closed due to the Corona-Virus-pandemicA laptop would be good to Get Out of this isolation hole.
With Nothing Else to do, I get more and more scared Every Day worrying about My Daughter Beverley.
I don't feel like I, as A Mother , that I protect myself to her, I was selfish.
I wish My Case was to be decided soon, because only then can I make a claim on family reunification, so My Daughter can join us.
I wish you was here With Us , so that My Life could finally begin.
The Home Office said it was "to ensure that asylum applications in a timely manner," and that all the decision that were made, "based on the available evidence at The Time ".
As I said, Winnie Agbonlahor
