Sir Elton John is performing in New Zealand as part of his goodbye Yellow Brick Road-tour

A visibly Sir Elton John angered was forced to cut short a concert in New Zealand , after he was sick with walking pneumonia.

The musician, 72, his voice lost, half way through his set-Auckland-Mount Smart Stadium on Sunday.

"I've only had completely lost My Voice . I can't sing," Sir Elton, The Crowd said. "I have to go. I'm sorry. "

Sir Elton appeared, burst into tears, as he leaned on his piano and shook his head.

The Audience , the English singer gave a stormy ovation, as he walked slowly from the stage, assisted by some helpers.

Earlier in his set, Sir Elton, the sold-out audience said he had been diagnosed with walking pneumonia on Sunday.

The Concert was The First in New Zealand , map of Sir Elton goodbye Yellow Brick Road tour.

Walking pneumonia, which also causes an atypical pneumonia is a type of lung infection often caused by bacteria or viruses.

It is less serious than other types of pneumonia, with the majority of patients do not require medical attention. The symptoms are similar to those of a cold, often with cough, chest pain, neck pain and headaches.

Sir Elton was checked by the doctor halfway through The Show and, despite his illness, was able to run classics such as Candle in The Wind , and All The Girls Love Alice.

Sir Elton was But in the end, does not finish the sentence, his voice, as he tried to sing to Daniel .

Sir Elton told The Crowd that he was diagnosed with walking pneumonia

Shortly after leaving the stage,

"I played and sang my heart out until My Voice could no longer sing. I'm disappointed, deeply hurt and sad. I gave it everything I had. Thank You for your exceptional support and all the love you showed me during today's performance. I Am eternally grateful. Love, Elton xx," he wrote.

On Social Media , concertgoers expressed sympathy for The Singer , who remains one of The World 's most in-demand live performers.

Sir Elton John announced, in 2018, to travel he would cease to be priorities for His Family . But he announced that he would Say Goodbye to the fans with a series of 300 appointments over a period of three years.

It is not clear what will have an impact on Sir Elton John 's illness, about the upcoming tour dates.

The Star is scheduled to play two more concerts in Auckland on Tuesday and Thursday as part of The Tour .
