Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said that Iranian President Hassan Rouhani should an "end of hostilities".

In a telephone conversation, Mr Johnson called for relaxation of Iran in retaliation for the U.S. killing of army chief Qasem Soleimani .

Earlier, UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said that he recognized The Threat that Iran poses in the Middle East and a US "right to self-defence", after talks with his counterpart in Washington.

Mr Raab also reiterated his support for a diplomatic solution to The Crisis , during his meeting With Us Secretary of state Mike Pompeo .

"We want to see tensions de-escalated," he said.
