Coronavirus: UK-"cases could in the right direction'

Nov 20,2023 7:51 am

The Number of coronavirus cases in the UK "could be moving in The Right direction", the government's chief scientific adviser has Said .

on the occasion of The Daily Downing Street briefing, Sir Patrick Vallance Said it was "possible that we will begin to See . The Curve is flattening".

however, He added, it would be another week or so" before he could be sure.

The state Secretary of the Federal foreign office, meanwhile, Said that the clock that is on the intensive care unit, is in "good spirits" and "stable".

It Comes as The Number of coronavirus-hospital deaths in the UK rose to 6,159 - record growth of 786 in one day, compared to 439 on Monday.

So Far , 55,242 people, be positive an increase of 3,634 tested to be in the UK on Monday.

the Talk about The Number of new cases, Sir Patrick Said : "It is possible that we will begin to See . Change in terms of flattening The Curve a little.

"We don't know for sure until a week or so. But what we See is an acceleration. "

Sir Patrick stressed that it was important to continue with The Social -distancing measures to ensure a reduction in The Number of new cases.

Commenting on the latest virus-death figures, The Bbc head of statistics Robert Cuffe Said that if it was a "Silver Lining to these dismal numbers", it is that they represent "The Fourth day in a row of below-trend growth".

"For weeks, until Friday, the figures, The Number of deaths was already every three days and a half doubled," He Said . "To continue this trend, we would have seen close to 1,400 deaths today.

"So, 786, is better than that, although it is still too early to know what caused it. It could be a big bottleneck in the Reporting - we have seen that after the previous week ends - or real evidence that the growth is really slowing down.

"hopefully More, for almost a week, every day, new cases have been stable at about 4,000 per day, suggesting that, while We Are still seeing new cases, the growth in this figure, the stalling. "

the graphic shows the expected future path of the epidemic, in case numbers and hospital admissions are seen as the leading indicators.

The Number of daily new was sick for just over 3,600 of the lowest in the week. Hospital admissions are still, to relax, even though the growth seems to be.

when you say the two of them together led to Sir Patrick, there were no signs of an acceleration and things could be "in The Right direction".

He added, however, that the government could not know, for a week or so.

The Number of deaths, however, is still Rising - and the latest daily reported increase of 786 is a record.

experts believe that the fatality numbers are the first indicator of what is happening, and only when there is a sustained flattening of the line on The Chart , you will be convinced that The Social distance has worked.

Asked whether the current block is extended, The Foreign Minister, Dominic Raab Said the government would make a decision when "The Time is ripe", but "We Are not at this level yet".

Downing Street confirmed that the criticism would not now go further on Monday and Said it would be done instead, after the three-week mark.

He added that social distancing measures have been to "help out", and that the people must continue to hold on to you over the Easter weekend.

The Foreign Minister gave a short statement about the Prime Minister , Boris Johnson , Said in Downing Street on Tuesday evening.

Mr. Johnson was admitted to St Thomas' Hospital in London with "persistent symptoms" of the Covid-19 on Sunday and was moved to the intensive care unit, on Monday evening, after his symptoms worsened.

Mr Raab, who is Said , as a representative for Mr. Johnson,, the watch was receiving "standard-oxygen-treatment" and was not to a ventilator.

"For all of us in the closet, he is not only our boss - he's a colleague and he is also our friend," He Said .

He added: "I am convinced that he will pull through, because if there's one thing that I know about this Prime Minister it is, [that] he is a fighter and he will again lead us through this crisis. "

As the first Secretary of state, Mr Johnson, if he is ill and incapable of.

In another development, Sir Patrick Said that he could not guarantee it would be enough intensive care unit (ICU) beds in each hospital during the epidemic.

But, in terms of demand, He Said : "it should be a General increase in The Number of beds available" over the whole of the NHS.

"The NHS has done an amazing job, the increase in the capacity seem to be the intensive care unit and the things tracking in The Right direction," He Said .

And asked whether the government, Mr Raab Said the latest data showed, there were over 14,000 tests in a single day, which he described as "progress".

Prof Chris Whitty , the government's chief medical advisor, Said Germany - where The Number of deaths seemed to be cases, is growing more slowly, had "a nose" in its ability to test for The Virus .

"There is a lot to learn and we have tried to learn the lessons from that," He Said .
