A knife-wielding employee killed, three officers and an office worker in the headquarters of The Police in the centre of the French capital, Paris .
The attacker has not been named, was shot and killed by The Police .
eye witnesses described the scenes of panic with many people fleeing The Building in tears. The area in the île de la Cité has been sealed off.
The Attack came A Day after The Police strike in the whole of France about the increasing violence against Police officers.
The Paris Prosecutor's office said a murder investigation had been launched.
A motive for The Attack is unclear. However, Police trade Union have proposed a representative, may have been involved, the attacker will be in a workplace dispute.
What happened?around 13:00 local time (11:00 GMT; 12:00 BST), the said attacker went into The Building and directly to his office, where he began attacking colleagues with a knife.
He stabbed three people in two offices and Two Women on a staircase, before he was shot by an officer inside The Building in the courtyard, according to French media.
Three men and a woman were killed, Paris Prosecutor Remy Heitz told reporters.
A fifth person was seriously injured in The Attack , and was sent for surgery. The Building is in the vicinity of major tourist attractions such as the Cathedral of Notre-Dame.
"The Police ran in panic," A Witness who was in the courtyard said to the time of The Attack , Le Parisien newspaper.
