The two weren't enjoying one of its most ambitious expeditions

A Man who rescued a Scottish climber from the ruin to a 22,500 ft (6,858 m) peak in Pakistan has described how he feared his friend would not return from the expedition alive.

What began as a much-anticipated trip for five very experienced climbers Koyo in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province ended in drama, and a very long night for Tom Livingstone and Scots Ally Swinton.

An error is introduced with the allies, from Leven in Fife, falling over 65ft (20m) and suffering A Number of injuries.

Seven Days earlier, The Five friends had to tackle divided various sides of the Mountain .

Sim, Ally Swinton, Uisdean Hawthorn, John Crook , and Tom Livingstone spent Six Weeks of acclimatization before the fight against Koyo For Tom and the allies camped on a narrow snow ridge in the Golden glow of the sunset before the disaster

Koyo is a long, narrow hill with steep, icy slopes. The experienced climbers in The British expedition broke into three groups to attack.

William Sim and John Crook took the left-hand skyline to The East and Tom and Ally took the unbestiegenen west face. Fellow Scot Uisdean Hawthorn had returned to the base camp.

The couple enjoyed The Challenge , reaching a height of 18,000 ft (5486m). She described it as an "amazing, test, experience".

Then fell, Ally , 30, in a crevasse.

Tom , 28, said: "I did what anyone would do, and took care of him, as I'm sure he would for me.

"He was full of blood from a head wound. I sliced open his pants to check his leg pain, in the hope that my fingers would not meet a sharp bone and the soft, wet flesh. Luckily the stage was only mauled. "

Tom said, he tried to reason through the adrenaline rushing through him.

He knew, they were in a remote region of Pakistan, and the only picture he had seen, looked from its planned descent, such as a "gnarled, long glacier". It would take at least A Day to make, if you were lucky.

Ally was bleeding heavily from the head and shaking.

you had to Eat no gas left and only a couple of energy bars and nuts.

The two spent The Night waiting for The Rescue helicopter, while Tom watched Ally , breathing Ally 's breathing was already irregular from the height, and gave his friend a reason to worry

He said: "I knew that Ally needed more medical attention than our only Association could provide. After a few minutes I thought I pressed the SOS button on a satellite communicator. "

Ally remained conscious as they waited for The Rescue helicopter, but in The First afternoon, noticed Tom , he seemed to be very weak, sluggish and weak.

He admitted: "For a time, I was really worried that he might die in The Night

"It was quite an experience with the spoon Ally , full of blood, the whole night. I can still smell The Blood .

"I heard his breathing, already irregular in height, and when his breathing pauses for Seconds . and Seconds . and I would him gave a nudge, My Own breath, for his next inhalation. "

Ally Swinton is recovering from his accident in the mountains

fortunately improved the next day and relief came in the form of the sound of the helicopter rotor blades.

thanks to the Pakistani army, all five of them were then saved.

Tom and his allies were of the Mountain -on the 30th of September and Ally the medical treatment he needed, and received, in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The couple are now at home and grateful for The Rescue . But you want to remember it, the rise as one of The Best that you have ever done.

Tom said: "I consider myself on the high standards and ethics. I want to go up to the limits of climbing, and free. I echoed the comments from others in The Past about these standards: 'If you lose them to frostbite on a route. If you saved a route, you lose. '

"We have rescued. We ultimately lost due to these conditions. The main thing is that we were both safe and well and we have a great Adventure . "
