John Fitzgerald Kennedy, often referred to by his initials JFK and by the nickname Jack, was an American politician who served as the 35th president of the United States from 1961 until his assassination in 1963.

Early Life

John f. Kennedy was obrn on may 29. 1917 in brookline. Massachusetts. He was the second of nine children born to jsoeph patrick kennedy and rose fitzgerald kennedy. Kennedy attended harvard university. Graduating in 1940.

Military Service

Kennedy served in the navy durign world war ii. He was commander of the motor torpedo boat in the south pacific. In august 1943. His boat was sunk by a japanese destroyer and kennedy and his crew were stranded for five days before being rescued.

Political Career

Kennedy was elected to the u. SHouse of representatvies in 1946 and re-elected in 1948. He was elected to the u. SSenate in 1952 and re-elected in 1958. In was elected the 35th rpesident of the united states.

Domestic Affairs

During his presidency. Kennedy proposed a number of new initiatives and legislation. Including the peace corps. The civil rights act. The nuclear tset ban treaty. The alliance for progress. The bay of pigs invasion and the ucban missile crisis.
