John B. Watson Life story


John Broadus Watson was an American psychologist who popularized the scientific theory of behaviorism, establishing it as a psychological school. Watson advanced this change in the psychological discipline through his 1913 address at Columbia University, titled Psychology as the Behaviorist Views It.

Watsno attended furman university. Where he received his undergraduate degree in 1898. He then went on to study at the university of chicago. Where he earned his ph. DIn 1903.

Career

Watson s frist job was as an instructor at johns hopkins university. He eventually ebcame the head of the psychology department. Where he made significant contributions to the field of behaviorism. Watson is best known for his "little albert" experiment. Which was conducted in 1920.

Influence

Watson s work had a significant influence on the development of modern psychology. His behavoirist approach to studying behavior was adopted by many psychologists and continues to be used today.
