Racism-protests to the root of the problem'

Nov 30,2023 8:51 pm

Qasim Lozano said he saw people treating his friend's afro like a toy, and even if it is On Fire

A Scottish man of Pakistani origin, did not protest, as we said, to share black squares on Social Media , and upload posts against racism is at the root of The Problem .

Qasim Lozano, 27, said microaggressions were to be more subtle and less blatant forms of racism had to dance first.

The death of George Floyd in the United States mass anti-racism has triggered protests.

Mr Lozano told Bbc Scotland about his experiences of Growing Up in Edinburgh.

'Systematic racism'

He Said : "in The Last couple of weeks, the topic of systematic racism was brought to the fore as a result of the Police Brutality in the United States.

"It warms my heart to see so many people Out There that the public support for a cause, very dear to me.

"However, some of The People protesting, sharing black squares and upload a flood of posts against racism seem to be completely oblivious to the fact that you could have helped this Problem . "

mass anti-racist protests were held in Scotland recently,

The former Leith Academy pupil said that when he was in school, he saw people, the treatment of his friend afro like a toy, the things in it and also setting it On Fire .

For his Best Friend , the black Africans, the racial micro aggression came in the form of people who tell him he can rap or beatbox, mocking The Way his lips or nose looked compared to every other black person, to tell him to say certain phrases to say and him to imitate other Black People in popular culture, especially music and movies.

Mr. Lozano said, as he has two goals in his team, the football final, his coach was the purchase of The Team pints and asked if he could, because he suspected that he had a religion that prohibited the consumption of alcohol.

George Floyd's death in may, anti-racism sparked protests in all over The World

Edinburgh Napier University business graduate, said: "The reality is racism woven deeply into the fabric of British culture and society.

"We only have to beat rarely witness the police shoot black men here in Edinburgh.

"In The Few cases where we observe that someone who explicitly and openly racist, Most People acknowledge, and agree that it is wrong. "

He added: "But I want to talk about the form of racism, which I had in my entire life.

"The Most common and most widespread form of racism, which goes without recognition here of the racial micro aggression. "

Mr Lozano is The Third generation of His Family to have been born in Britain

He Said he would rather people looked at each other, and how others around her acted before you on The Streets or in the Social Media to protest about racism.

He Said : "no real permanent changes you need to go back a step and look deep into themselves, to think in your past, in your type, to act in the manner and to the questions: What would I have done differently? What would I have done differently?

"people need to think, the Next Time you are witness, if someone is a racist micro-aggression, she will only act if it is an insult to the victims?

"And if it does not offend The Victim ? Let The People laugh at him as a joke?"

He Said he would like to that the teaching programme in the schools, so that micro to show aggression and attack.
