Apple announces new iPhone-SE goal-to mid-range market

Sep 26,2023 10:41 am

Apple announced a new iPhone-SE, the revival of a mid-market brand, had it set in 2018.

He is similar to the form of 2017 iPhone 8 with a 4. 7in screen and a fingerprint sensor, but not a depth camera for the face detection.

It is powered by the same processor as the flagship iPhone 11 Pro, but there are several rear cameras missing.

The handset will cost the same as the original SE in the USA, but more expensive in other markets.

The iPhone-SE's for the price of $399 in the US and £419 in the UK.

One analyst said that with a mid-range phone could help Apple in the competition for new customers against rivals such as Samsung and Google, which have a strong presence in this market segment.

"if you buy an iPhone, you are more likely to buy another," said Dan Iver of Wedbush Securities.

Physical stores, including Apple, remain closed in many countries.

But Mr Iver expected to sell The Phone , between 20 million and 25 million units in The First six to Nine Months .

"Apple's hands are almost forced to, because from a supply chain perspective, it was done," He Said .

But he added that while the competitors could be priced similar to, "Apple is the Golden brand".

The Device supports charging wireless. Its rear-facing camera resolution is 12 mega pixels and can still create background blur in the photo-portrait, despite the absence of a second lens. The selfie-camera is 7MP.

Mobile analyst Carolina Milanesi also said to appeal to the Apple brand, would help it in this price class.

"The second-hand market is pretty vibrant for Apple, so there are users who never a new iPhone, want, and can afford to at this price", said the Creative-Strategies-consultants.

I think, But she also warned: "The Phone has some compromises. It can't be Too Close to the iPhone 11, or iPhone, XR - or what's The Point ?"

The iPhone-SE goes on sale on 24 April .
