Ken Bruce: "Radio offers friendship, in an undemanding way,'
Bruce has been a presenter at BBC Radio 2 since 1980
, you would not normally hear a tractor passing by, or birds chirping in the background of the Ken Bruce 's BBC Radio 2 show.
But, if you listen carefully, the only a couple of the sounds that bring you might be able to on the now, the presenter sends out his Oxfordshire home.
"I live to arrive in fear of the binmen or The Royal Air Force fly over in extremely noisy Chinooks, as they sometimes do," Bruce laughs. "But So Far it is okay. "
Bruce's mid-morning show on Radio 2 - he's held continuously since 1992, according to a previous activity in the 1980S , particularly more popular handset at The Moment is switch on the Radio while housebound.
"In a time like this, people want to hear The News , but you don't want the whole day," says Bruce. "From my point of view, I'll be sure to a news broadcast of the day, and after that I don't want to know really too much, unless it is an important development.
"So, escapism is a big part, people from the right feel, while in this, and I think that we have a certain amount of that, A Chance to the worries of The World on one page. "
Radio programs have seen a significant increase in texts and E-Mails from listenersAn increase in the listening to not be reflected in the official figures for a few months, but The Bbc says that there is a significant increase in live was listening to the Radio on The Bbc Sounds app since Lockdown came into effect the measures.
Not that Bruce needed any help, attracts the listeners. With an audience of 8. 27 million, is to be The Most popular show in the UK - a particularly impressive award that he is not the host of the Breakfast Show , traditionally a Radio station's flagship program.
Bruce is one of countless Radio presenters currently broadcasting from home, but technical advances make these much easier than it used to be.
Many listeners do not even have a Change noted, as was the case when the presenters of the Radio 4 programme Today began its broadcasts from home, in The Last month.
"It sounded so good that we actually have Some People had questions appeal to, 'Why everyone is in the same studio? You should social distancing", " The Bbc Director of Radio and training,
"We like them All In the same place, if you do not have much say, [the moderators] to explain [to home] because actually, The Sound makes it seem. "
For Today 's program of the male hosts, the familiar Home Environment is The Ideal opportunity to grow up at least you have a beard.
- Today host Justin Webb is normal based studio and beard free"I have to admit, I've been going to a slightly more relaxed approach to The Morning ," Justin Webb wrote This Week in the Radio Times . "I'm not shaving, largely in competition with Nick Robinson , came back from a holiday Last Year , looked like a Mills & Boon romantic hero. "
Where the moderators are, the Radio proves to be a valuable source of entertainment, now many people are working from home.
"the Radio represents the friendship, camaraderie, in an undemanding way, so that strong relationships are formed between the earpiece and the transmitter in the Radio , and I think that increase is only, as time goes by," says Bruce.
"We are certainly aware of the fact that more people listen to and take part in Popmaster, for example, as before, and the texts and E-Mails have massively grown, so I think it will be a General re-discovery of the Radio , and how important it can be in times like these. "
by Petroc Trelawny , who hosts Radio 3 's Breakfast Show , it has a wave in the hear of music-based programs, such as The Public search, togetherness, and escape from The News agenda.
"R3 listeners to send several hundred E-Mails, tweets, and texts, to The Breakfast each morning, a significant proportion of which comes, the refuge of Today , and news-based Breakfast shows on 5 live and LBC,"
But there is a certain delay before the industry can determine how big the increase in listening was.
Last month, industry body collecting data from members of The Public has been made more complicated under blocking.
Bruce was together with fellow Radio 2 DJs Sara Cox and Claudia Winkleman at The Bbc , the Biggest weekend in 2018Bruce, the benefits of embracing the work-from-home (are not able to eat, a slice of lemon drizzle cake while the 11-o'clock News Bulletin ). If Lockdown restrictions are finally lifted, it will choose more DJs to be active, to continue broadcasting from home?
"It can move a slight. But I know that there is something about being in a particular building, it is the kind of College feeling on the Radio 2 or wherever it is, and take in the culture of the organization that you're almost in there by osmosis, as there," he says.
"you get to see all of the other, or that the rumors do not hear, that is important, but you get The General sense of what's going on while you are there. "
Popmaster popularityA special feature in Bruce ' s show, which has seen a significant increase in the commitment of the famous quiz show at 10:30 in The Morning .
"We hear a lot about the Popmaster effect," says Bruce producer Ricky Marshall.
"It is always a date to hear this, but I think now, More Than ever, it is really high-to - Families are sitting down to Popmaster, the people say, you can play together with your friends on a Zoom call.
"The hashtag seems a trend on most days, with the people together, so I think there is a real sense of online community around the quiz is quite nice. "
Popmaster two callers face a series of (often quite difficult) music questions. If you hesitate too long, a five-second countdown begins, the increases the pressure.
"With the five-seconds-counter, you have to feel it," says Bruce. "You don't play it early on the early questions, and if you think someone could help a little, shall we say, then you can strike, the five-seconds-countdown-clock on the bottom right quickly. So it is A Question of feel. "
under the relentless difficulty of The Questions , Marshall says: "It is good, when you hit that Sweet Spot of your epoch or your area, but some of The Questions I look at and I have no idea. It is only disturbing if Ken don't know The Answer , then you know you are in trouble! He is usually seen all over The Years . "
Rob Brydon impression of Bruce left the listener into a state of hysteria 2011Bruce recently, he only had A Day sick in The Last 34 years, although there was an occasion where the listener might have, he noted, sounded like his usual self.
On April Fools Day 2011, the comedian Rob Brydon (whose impression of Bruce is scary-famous-for Him -
If, God Forbid , Bruce was sick for The Next few months and had a couple of days away from work, there is A Chance Brydon could work for Him again?
"Well, Yes, I'm sure he could laugh," Bruce, "but I don't think The Bbc could afford Him . "
