Hans Riegel, Sr.

Johannes "Hans" Riegel Sr. was a German confectioner who invented the gummy bear in 1922 and founded the Haribo company. He was married to Gertrud. The company was passed onto his sons, Hans Riegel Jr. and Paul Riegel, following his death.
